Cry of Pain sai alkunsa armon vuonna 2000. Ala-asteikäiset Suortti, Mellin ja Nummi toimivat tuolloin vielä erittäin epämääräisen orkesterin perustajajäseninä. Kolmisen vuoden räpeltämisen jälkeen Lipponen tempaistiin mukaan vajanaisen bändin kokoonpanoon.

Lipposen myötä Himin coverit vaihtuivat astetta rankempaan suuntaan. 2004 yhtyeen nimeksi vakiintui Cry Of Pain. Samana vuonna ilmestyi myös orkesterin ensimmäinen demo (Evil inside), sekä ensimmäinen live-esiintyminen Haminan valo-rockissa.

2005 Cry of Pain suuntasi tiensä kohti Woodbine Garden- studiota mukanaan nauhoittaja Teemu Aalto. Tuon viikonlopun jälkeen bändin ensimmäinen studiodemo (The Beginning of the End) näki päivänvalonsa.

Muutamien keikkojen sekä vuonna 2006 ilmestyneen The Melancholic Massacre-demon jälkeen koitti vuoden mittainen treeni- ja biisintekotauko, jonka aikana valmisteltiin uuden demon biisejä.

Vuoden 2008 tammikuussa Cry of Pain vetäytyi ManuAudion studioon yhdessä äänittäjä/tuottaja Sami Haurun kanssa. Narulle tarttui neljä kappaletta sisältävä demo, joka kantaa nimeä This Hell Inside Your Head.

Cry of Pain was founded in the year 2000, in the city of Hamina. At the time, the founding members Suortti, Mellin and Nummi were still at the elementary school. After about three years of struggling, Lipponen was caught and put into the bands line-up with the rest of the guys.

As Lipponen showed up, the attitude and the songs became again a little bit more aggressive. Band had a few other suggestions at the beginning, but finally in the year 2004, guys decided that the name was going to be Cry of Pain as we know it nowadays. In the same year Cry of Pain recorded their first demo which was recorded in the rehearsalplace, and they also performed for the first time in the "Valo-rock" in Hamina.

In the year 2005 Cry of Pain headed to the Woodbine Garden-studio with the producer Teemu Aalto. After the sessions, the first Cry of Pain studio demo (The Beginning of the End) was recorded, including four tracks.

After a few gigs and the new demo (The Melancholic Massacre) Cry of Pain concentrated on rehearsing and producing new material for the next demo.

In January 2008 band headed again towards the studio. This time guys chose the ManuAudio which is located in Kouvola. Cry of Pain recorded again four songs during the studio sessions with producer Sami Hauru (ID:Exorcist). The new demo was titled "This Hell Inside Your Head".
